Craving My Bed Poem

Photo courtesy of Creative Commons "Colour Palette" by Pager PG

"Bed? Where Do You Dwell?"

Sweet mystery of bed
where do you dwell?
In my mind
somewhere in my head?

Perchance we shall
meet up soon.
As I toil by the
twilight of the moon.

My body craves rest
as I long to doze
off in my nest.

Encompassed By Night

Photo provided by Creative Commons "Moonlight Road" by Andres Otarola

Captured by the
ethereal darkness of night
that sweeps in
with it's cloak of sadness.

I feel sad and alone
against the backdrop
of the majestic moon.

The stars dancing
like butterflies
over my head
as if speaking
a language all their own.

Left awestruck in the
beauty that surrounds me.
For this is a silent sight.

I Let Go

Photo provided by Creative Commons "Cry" by Cicero Fonseca

Down I came,
YOU,
glanced at another.
My breath stifled,
YOURS free.

The whole night,
I,
gazed at YOU.
YOU,
gazed back.

Why,
couldn't
WE,
be together?

Jealousy struck,
as my thoughts,
wonderred...?
did you care,
now, for HER?

As OUR gazes met,
did you realize,
I CARED BACK.

The night ended,
me...?
I LET GO!

New Dawning

Photo (with permission) "Spring Bouquet" by Emily M. Hanson

Deeply suspending my emotions,
unleashing forth new thoughts.

Waiting for the new dawn to awaken,
my veiled eyes.
Covered under a dark mask of a cloud.

Slowly evaporating as the sun
beams brighter.
Stretching forth, beginning again.

Etch a Vision

Photo (with permission) "Dolphins At Play" by Lauren Gary

Were you and I seated here,
I would etch a vision across
your mysterious mask.

Could I possibly
rattle tendrils
of acute creativity?

Together we would
watch oceans stretch
for centuries.

Were you and I so unique
I would not hinder thoughts
that cross your
evading eyes.

Could I possibly
speak volumes
of unexplained knowledge?

Together we would
sketch silently
you and I
you and I....

1990 The New Decade

Photo (with permission) "Sunrise" by Dean

Changes occur as the new decade arrives.
Past memories,
buried away.
All is new again.
Time for new dreams,
and new goals.

Not stopping to reflect,
on what is past,
but hoping for a brighter tomorrow.

How a decade flies,
how fast a new one arrives.
Days of a child,
now grown to an adult.

Immature choices,
now thoughtful considerations.
Little dolls and playhouses,
now computers and art magazines.
Childish ways,
now a mature lady.

Thoughts of yesterday wiped away...

The Library

Photo provided by Creative Commons "Library" by Fahad Ali

Still, quiet,
serene...
A place of tranquillity...

Solitude floats through the air;
rising higher,
and filling ever crevice
of my being.

A place that lightens
the loads I bear.
It surrounds,
like a comforting friend.

Always waiting for me
to reappear...
